RHIC, the world's first polarized hadron collider, has opened a new window to explore the spin structure of the nucleon. Collisions with longitudinally polarized beams are providing information about the polarization of the gluons in the proton and will provide information about the polarization of the anti-quarks. Collisions with transversely polarized beams may be yielding hints of parton orbital motion. Measurements with unpolarized beams are exploring the range of applicability of perturbative QCD and determining the non-perturbative inputs that are needed for precise QCD calculations. A brief overview is given of results to date and planned future directions.
