It is pointed out that the Brans-Dicke stiff matter solution recently given by Ram and Singh (1984) is incorrect insofar as the corresponding field equations are not solved in adequate detail, and the BDT-Bianchi type-I field equation is rediscussed in its most general form. Various stiff matter solutions for both the BDT and the GRT are considered along with the vacuum case, and it is concluded that the GRT-Bianchi type I stiff matter solution does not exist.
