Image tube spectra have been obtained from emission line regions within the bar of NGC 4151 at about 1 arcmin distance from the nucleus. The line widths of 50 + or - 30 km/s, the electron densities N(e) of less than 500/cu cm, and the appearance on photographs of different color suggest that these regions are normal H II regions. Significant radial streaming motions (about 20 km/s) of the H II regions are detected after constraining the circular velocities (of about 150 km/s) by 21-cm-data. The velocity vectors are interpreted by oval streamlines of the gas which are caused by the gravitational potential of the bar. This is in agreement with earlier conclusions from radio data by Bosma (1978). Finally, some morphological peculiarities in the bar of NGC 4151 are emphasized.
