Spectroscopic observations at a resolution of 1 A have been obtained of the bright (A) and one of the faint (C) components of the triple QSO PG 1115+08 shortward of the Lyman-alpha emission line down to approximately 3200 A. Two of the Lyman-alpha lines not associated with metal-containing absorption systems are clearly present in the spectra of both objects. A lower limit of approximately 0.4 kpc for the lateral dimensions of one of these Ly-alpha clouds follows if the lens system has a redshift of approximately 0.8.
