5500 astrographic plates, covering nearly a quarter of the sky and providing 1,870,976 star positions (with a precision corresponding to a standard error of 0.4 arcsec) and photographic magnitudes (with a precision corresponding to a standard error of 0.4 mag) in the AGK 2/3 system, have been combined into a catalogue of 1,025,208 stars with their mean values of positions and magnitude at the mean epoch of observations (around 1905). This survey is essentially complete up to photographic magnitude 12.7. The integrated star densities in both galactic hemispheres are in good agreement. This survey, with at least 50 stars per square degree in most cases, may still be useful for photographic plate scale calibration.
