Spontaneous And Radiative Symmetry Breaking, Elementary Particle Processes
Scientific paper
Advantages accruing to theories with spontaneous breakdown of flavor symmetries are reviewed. A possible experimental signature in rare K decays is discussed. One particularly attractive breakdown scheme is pointed out, and its consequences for mixing angles described. Recent ideas concerning axions, and their possible cosmological significance, are briefly discussed. The relevance of Cavendish-type experiment in testing for axions and familons is mentioned.
