An expression is formulated, on the basis of radiation-driven overstability and nonradial oscillation theories, which is applicable to the semiconductive mixing in stellar interiors. A diffusion equation may then be applied independently of time to deviations from the Schwarzschild criterion, as well as to those from the Ledoux criterion and the mixing of chemical elements.
