The author estimates the input of kinetic energy from stellar winds and supernovae explosions in several galaxies (LMC, SMC, NGC 6822, IC 1613, and M33) for comparison with the solar neighbourhood where a similar estimate is made by Abbott (1982). The author also estimates the radiative energy and momentum input to the interstellar gas. The amount of kinetic energy per unit mass of gas vary widely from galaxy to galaxy and is shown to be correlated with the presence of interstellar bubbles visible on Hα photographs of these objects.
