IN a recent communication1 an outline was given of investigations of the variable galactic noise received from the constellation of Cygnus, first noticed by Hey, Parsons and Phillips2. The characteristics of the radiation were described, and evidence was given of its origin in a discrete source. A search has since been made over about one quarter of the celestial sphere for other such sources. The region investigated is roughly enclosed by the co-ordinates: The frequency used was 100 Mc./s., with an overall sensitivity of 10-24 watts m.-2 (c./s.)-1, and the technique and equipment employed were as previously described1,3.
