In the standard "α-theory" for thin accretion disks the non-molecular viscosity is described by the ratio α of the viscous stress to the pressure. This viscous stress is usually thought to be caused by hydrodynamic or hydromagnetic turbulence. While the viscosity is taken to cause all the luminosity, the effect of such turbulence on the energy transport is not taken into account. Here it is shown that in radiatively structured disks the assumed turbulence contributes only less than one percent of the whole energy flux.
