The Brans-Dicke-Maxwell field equations in the presence of magnetic field have been solved for an axisymmetric metric in a radiation dominated early universe. An expression for the magnetic energy-density has been obtained. It is concluded that primordial magnetic fields may have had a profound effect in producing anisotropies of the universe and in primordial element production.
