The significance of the redshift in a model universe is discussed along with intensity fluctuations of light signals in a medium of statistically distributed gravitational waves, the gravitational radiation and mass transfer in close U-Geminorum type binaries, and questions regarding black holes and general relativity. Starquakes in neutron stars and the resulting pulsar speed-up are considered, giving attention to gravitational radiation in a neutron starquake. Problems concerning the gravitational redshifts in quasi-stellar objects are also examined.
