Consideration of the correlation function for the fluctuations of the cosmic-ray distribution function in the interplanetary magnetic field. The equation for this correlation function is solved for the case where the Larmor radius of a particle in a regular magnetic field is much less than the radius of correlation of a random magnetic field. In interplanetary space this condition is satisfied by particles of comparatively low energy (1 to 100 MeV), a range in which it is natural to expect the occurrence of the most perceptible fluctuations in the pitch-angle distribution of the particles. Certain assumptions are made concerning the structure of the interplanetary magnetic field, as a result of which the coefficient of diffusion across the lines of force of a regular magnetic field does not depend on the coordinates, but on a Green's function which is a function of the difference between the coordinates.
