Measurements are presented from medium- and high-dispersion spectrograms of HD 77581 (= 2U 0900-40). The spectrum indicates that the primary is losing mass by a stellar wind, at some .000001 solar mass per year, normal for a BO Ia + star. Orbital elements for the system are derived which indicate a small eccentricity. A weak emission line is attributable to He II 4686 A and indicates a radial-velocity variation approximately in antiphase with the primary. These results, together with an analysis of the photometric observations, suggest masses of 45 and 2.6 solar masses for the components of the system.
