Contour maps of the surroundings of six pulsars near the galactic plane at a wavelength of 11 cm are presented, and these are discussed along with previous observations of areas around 19 other pulsars. The probability of chance associations of pulsars with weak supernova remnants and the implications of the observational results for the radio halo hypothesis of Blandford et al. (1973) are discussed.
