The peculiarities of the heating of a laser-irradiated solid spheroidal particle to boiling temperatures are analyzed theoretically and numerically by solving the heat conduction equation. The internal field distribution of the spheroidal particles and a comparison with that for a spherical particle are presented. The temperature distributions are considered for different illumination intensity values and particle sizes. It is shown that the heating of spheroidal particles is notably nonuniform. The temperature variations inside the particles can range from 500 to 2500 K depending on the laser radiation intensity and the geometry of the particle (prolate or oblate).
