The phenomenon of self-similar skeletal structures, which has been identified in the range 10-5 -1023 cm in the data from various laboratory experiments, severe weather phenomena and cosmic space observations (Phys. Lett. A 306, 175 (2002)), made it reasonable to extend the original hypothesis (1998) for self-similar skeletons, composed of a fractal condensed matter, farther to cosmological length scales. Such an extension leads to hypothesis for a baryonic skeleton of the Universe (BSU), which has to be in thermal equilibrium with cosmic microwave background radiation. The suggested structure of BSU is based on the already identified and reasonably expected properties of carbon nanotubes, and is favorable for such mechanical and radiation properties of BSU, which make BSU an alternative to a ``dark matter''.
