Essential outlines of mathematical-physics criteria in radiative magnetohydrodynamics (RMHD) are presented, with a review of the basic nonlinear equations and examination of specific problems. RMHD adds to the customary inventory of MHD problems: high-temperature aerodynamics problems, space vehicle re-entry, gas dynamics problems involved in nuclear reactions, and stellar gas problems. Attention to radiation pressure, radiative energy density, and radiative heat flux is recommended. Nonlinear wave propagation, including magnetoacoustic waves and shock waves, and Jeans gravitational instability are singled out as specific problems deserving special attention. Other problems in RMHD are referenced in the literature.
