Evolutionary calculations for massive close binary systems are performed using the Schwarzschild criterion for convective stability in the zone of variable molecular weight. The calculations are compared with others that were performed using the Ledoux criterion. Based on this comparison, possibilities are pointed out for the observational verification of the correctness of these criteria.
