The power series method is used to calculate the orbits of earth satellites and is applied to the n-body problem. It is shown that this method is not as efficient - in terms of computing speed vs accuracy - as eighth or higher order Gauss-Jackson methods for generating satellite trajectories when spherical harmonic terms or a sophisticated atmospheric model must be included in the equations of motion. The power series method competes well with Gauss-Jackson methods for generating trajectories for two-body problems, including comets, certain restricted three-body problems, and n-body problems where n is small.-
