Observational results obtained with the use of the type I photoelectric astrolabe, developed for time and latitude determinations, are reported and analyzed, and instrument performance is estimated. The instrument was built and installed in the observatory in late 1971. The analysis shows that the instrument is entirely free from the effects of the personal equation, and that high accuracy is attainable in observational work. Systematic error in the FK4 star catalog is determined and attempts are made to refine the aberration constant.
