Fabian, Pringle and Rees (1975) recently argued that close binary systems may be formed by two-body tidal interaction, and that these may account for observed X-ray sources near the centers of globular clusters. In this note it is shown, by making use of Woolfson's (1964) results for capture processes, that through tidal interaction, disks can be formed around single compact objects which may emit thermal X rays for 100,000 to 1 million years.
