Solar scans, passband limited to effective wavelengths of 350 and 450 microns, have been obtained with angular resolution of about one minute. The observations show little evidence of the limb brightening that would be expected from spherically symmetric homogenous atmospheric models and the observed increase in brightness temperature in the regions above the solar-atmosphere temperature minimum. The observations suggest that the complex structure observed at higher levels in the solar atmosphere extends down to the level of the temperature minimum.
