A description is given of the use of the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope for solar observation. The modification to the standard use of the telescope, the calibration and the programs needed to obtain a two dimensional brightness map are illustrated. The total intensity map and the circular polarization map of the whole sun are presented as a preliminary result. The one dimensional description of the evolution of a solar burst is also included.
