Singularities in colliding gravitational plane-wave space-times are studied. In addition to scalar curvature singularities, colliding delta-function gravitational plane-wave space-times and colliding sandwich plane-wave space-times are shown to possess quasi-regular singularities, while colliding thick gravitational plane-wave space-times are shown to possess nonscalar curvature singularities. It is argued that these singularities are unstable. Scalar wave perturbations of the impulsive-wave space-time support this result.
