Water-vapor masers were searched for in an extended region around NGC 6334. Five sites of H2O maser emission were observed, of which two are new discoveries. The five masers lie in an elongated region having a length of approximately 10 pc, aligned approximately parallel to the galactic plane and the far-infrared sources. The distribution of radio and far-infrared objects in the elongated region shows considerable symmetry with respect to its center. It is suggested that four different stages of star formation can be identified in this molecular cloud. The more evolved objects occur at the projected center, with progressively younger objects toward the extremities of the cloud in the northeast and southwest directions.
