Mars: Figure, Mars: Chandler Wobble
Scientific paper
Chandler's period was calculated for models of a Martian figure with
three slightly unequal axes. It was found to be greater than that for
two-axial (spheroidal) models by approximately 3 sideral days. This
value is significant when compared with the effects of a liquid core
(about 8 sideral days) or inelasticity (2 - 5 sideral days).
