Scientific paper

Mercury's 3:2 resonance is investigated, where the motion under study
has generalized Cassini's laws extended to the plane case. Nearly
resonant periodic solutions are found and their stability is examined.
The stability conditions allow an upper estimate of the (A - C)/B ratio
of the moments of inertia of Mercury to be made.
