Though most astronomers agree that dark matter exists, the nature of this material remains a mystery. I describe kinematic observations of dwarf galaxies which provide compelling evidence for the existence of extensive amounts of dark matter in these systems. These observations also provide some broad limits on the properties of the dark matter in these dwarf galaxies. I also describe the properties and some initial results of a survey to search for microlensing events due to baryonic dark matter in the Galactic halo and disk. The ultimate goal of this work is to place firm limits on the masses of individual chunks of baryonic dark matter down to a few Jupiter masses. Some of the important astrophysical fringe benefits of this search are also described.
