The extent of polariation of the radiation emitted from a plane dust layer with a uniform distribution of energy sources is determined using a finite-difference approach. It is assumed that the particles are spherical and that their scattering is decribed by the Mie theory. The degree of polarization is calculated as a function of the direction, the optical thickness of the layer, and the mean particle size.
