The discovery of a strong increase of the flux in the chromospheric Ca
II K2 reversal of Alpha Ori is reported. The increase includes the
Lorentz-wings of the line until about 5 A from the center. The
variations were found in a monitoring program for medium- and long-term
variations in circumstellar lines of several late-type stars.
