A comparison is made between the influx of meteoric dust into the earth's atmosphere at the equinoxes and sporadic-E activity. The meteoric characteristics use data from visual, telescopic and radar meteors and the Es activity is represented by the occurrence of ionosonde f0Es. Comparision between temperate latitude characteristics at equinoxes for opposite hemispheres show that the Es variations closely reflect the meteor dust influx variations.
