Recent observations of coronal structure, together with statistical inferences drawn from spacecraft data, strongly suggest that the solar wind flow is organized in large-scale three-dimensional (3-D) patterns. A single fluid, nonlinear, adiabatic, 3-D, hydrodynamic numerical model for supersonic corotating streams in the region r greater than 35 solar radii was developed. Of primary concern is the extent to which nonlinear effects and the internally-generated nonradial flow may influence the dynamics and evolution of a stream in the supersonic region. To isolate these phenomena, theoretical predictions of the full two dimensional description are compared with those of simpler linear and purely radial formulations.
