High speed photometric observations of AM Herculis have been obtained in several colors. The 186-min variation is found to occur with greater amplitude at longer wavelengths. Autocorrelation analysis of the rapid flickering shows it to be consistent with a shot noise model. The photometric data suggests a dwarf-nova like model in which one side of the cool star is heated by the soft X-rays from the companion.
