We show that Einstein's field equations have two metric solutions for any given mass density of a perfect spherically symmetric static fluid. We illustrate this general result for specific cases in which the metric and mass are both in closed form. Hence solutions can be grouped by mass function, as an association of distinct metrics that differs from other metric associations already reported. We then derive a few new solutions. One is a new physical solution that when used in stellar modeling can produce stars with relatively large redshifts z. Other new solutions are unphysical—a companion metric to the Kottler metric (for the same mass function), and a second solution to Einstein's field equations for a perfect fluid energy momentum tensor for zero mass.
