Separated atmospheric Cerenkov detectors were used to search for bursts of gamma-rays, not associated with single air showers, predicted theoretically from the explosion of small black holes. Characteristic detectable energies are in the region 200 to 1,000 MeV but higher energy photons would also be detected. Detection sensitivities are in the region 10 to power (-13) to 10 to power (-11) joules/sqm for bursts of duration less than 1 microsecond. In a preliminary analysis an upper limit for primordial black hole explosions in the galaxy is set at 0.04 events/pc3-year.
