The letter reports resolved measurements of the quadrupole hyperfine
structure of HNC (hydrogen isocyanide). These measurements were made in
the direction of the cool interstellar dust cloud L134, and were used to
make an experimental determination of a fundamental spectroscopic
constant of HNC, its quadrupole coupling constant.
