Parkes-MIT-NRAO (PMN) surveys of the declination band -88 to -9 deg performed with the NRAO seven-beam receiver on the Parkes 64-m telescope during June 1990 are discussed. The PMN Southern Sky covering delta in the range -88 to -37 deg was reduced with AIPS to yield total-intensity maps covering about 2.5 sr with about 5-arcmin FWHM resolution. The rms map noise plus confusion increases from about 5 mJy/beam near the south celestial pole to about 10 mJy/beam at delta of -40 deg. The rms position uncertainties on the maps vary from 6 arcsec in each coordinate for the strongest sources to 30 arcsec at 5 sigma.
