NGC 2915 is an Irr II galaxy of the explosive class. Its remarkably low corrected radial velocity is confirmed by optical as well as 21-cm observations. Its relative hydrogen content is fairly high, although its morphological appearance points toward an early-type object. It is suggested that NGC 2915 could be another example of an explosive event arising upon sudden star formation triggered by the infall of gas.
