The paper deals with fine structure of photoelectronic spectra in the 20 to 32 eV range, where sharp nonmonotonic nature is determined by the resonance structure of N2, O2, and O photoionization by solar emission in the He II 303.8-A line. The results agree with Mukai et al. (1973) only with respect to the location of spectral peaks, but significantly differ in magnitudes. Since a kinetic equation of Khazanov et al. (1978) takes into account all collision mechanisms, the less pronounced nonmonotonic type observed in the experiment cannot be explained by relaxation of spectral peaks due to collision of photoelectrons with charged and neutral plasma components. It is concluded that consideration of interactions of photoelectrons with plasma potential oscillations apparently cannot explain a smoother shape of experimental spectra.
