The Mars Regional Atmospheric Modeling System is capable of simulating atmospheric circulations on the mesoscale ( 100km) and smaller ( 30m). The model dynamical core is non-hydrostatic and fully three-dimensional. Physics include the radiation scheme from the NASA Ames Mars GCM, which accounts for the effects of dust in the solar and IR wavelenghts, a multi-level prognostic soil model, and several levels of turbulence closure options. The model is highly adaptable, and may be configured over complex topography with an infinite number of interactive two-way nests. Horizontal and vertical grid spacing are user specified to capture the features of interest. Emphasis is placed on the model physics with examples of applications of the Mars Regional Atmospheric Modeling System. Future research and applications are also presented.
