UBVR photoelectric observations have been made of faint stars selected as possible Pleiades cluster members on the basis of proper motions. Stars were found which appear to be still in the pre-main-sequence contraction phase. This implies that star formation can take place over an extended interval during a cluster lifetime. The observed Pleiades main sequence falls below the zero-age main sequence (ZAMS), indicating a possible need for a revision of the lower part of the ZAMS.
