Images obtained with an ISIT 'video camera' of the nebulosity surrounding the active object 3C 120 are presented. The images taken through interference filters centered on redshifted forbidden O III (5007 A) and H-alpha + forbidden N II show a complex filamentary structure approximately one arcmin (about 60 kpc) in size whose excitation state is quite high. The continuum photograph (which excludes the contribution of the emission-line gas) shows a structure which resembles an edge-on S0 galaxy with most of the emission-line gas lying along the S0's inferred rotation axis. There is little correspondence between the kinematic axis of the superrelativistically expanding nuclear radio source and the morphologies of either the emission-line or continuum optical images. The properties of the system seen in 3C 120 are compared with those previously observed in several other active objects.
