All published data on Nova Cyg 1975 are studied together with observations made in 1977-1978 in order to analyze the short-period variability of this nova during the first 100 days after outburst. It is found that: (1) the period decreased rapidly from about 0.1415 day to 0.1395 day between the beginning of September and December 1975; (2) this long-term evolution of the photometric period was interrupted by erratic changes, mainly during the interval JD 2442675-JD 2442680; (3) the nova's light curve was asymmetric before JD 2442675 with the maximum at phase 0.43, the maximum shifted to the middle of the curve (phase 0.51) later on in 1975, and no significant asymmetry in the light curve was detected during 1976-1978; (4) the period decrease continued smoothly from about 0.1385 to 0.1378 day between May and December 1976 and probably reached its minimum by March 1977; and (5) the period increased in 1977-1978 to a value of at least 0.1413 day in May 1978.
