We propose to observe two isolated neutron stars which are known to be pulsars at other wavelengths and are moderately strong X-ray sources. The objective is to observe spectral absorption features due to Fe atoms in the stellar atmosphere. The locations and strengths of the absorption features will be determined in large part by the strength and orientation of the magnetic field at the neutron surface. The features will be modulated as the star rotates, so we desire to measure the spectrum as a function of pulse phase.
