In this paper a new approach for the numerical solution of orbital problems is introduced. This approach is based on the dissipative multistep methods (i.e., methods which are not symmetric). We show that the trigonometrical fitting property produces efficient methods of this category. For comparison purposes we use well-known symmetric multistep methods.
