Observations of the bright IR-selected QSO IRAS 13349+2438, which provide important clues about the structure of the inner few parsecs of AGN, are reported. Three observational characteristics of IRAS 13349+2438 stand out and are unique among known luminous QSOs, namely, the high polarization and its wavelength dependence, the highly reddened broadline spectrum and continuum, and the strong IR excess near 10 microns. The high degree of polarization, increasing toward the UV, indicates a strong scattered spectrum combined with a redder unscattered spectrum. The polarization of the broad H-alpha line is found to be similar to that of the continuum at the same wavelength. The polarized flux spectrum is derived from the present spectrophotometry and broadband polarization measurements. The high degree of polarization also suggests a small range of scattering angles. The wavelength independence of polarization for the scattered component suggests electron scattering.
