Scientific paper

Attention is given to the origin of Neptune, cloud motion on Neptune from Voyager 2, plasma wave observations at Neptune, energetic particle signatures of satellites and rings in Neptune's magnetosphere, volatile processes in Triton's atmosphere and surface, Triton's eruptions analogous to Comet Halley's, and a comparison of density waves in the rings of Saturn and Uranus. Attention is also given to high-resolution imaging of solar system objects with space telescopes and ground-based telescopes, planetary investigation by polarimeter, infrared spectra of gaseous organics of planetological interest, and an approach for the search of extra-solar system planets taking advantage of the simultaneous wide spectral range and high resolution of a future planetary observatory in earth orbit.
