Using the atomic structure computer program SUPERSTRUCTURE, new accurate oscillator strengths have been calculated for 2p-3s and 3s-3p allowed or spin-forbidden transitions of astrophysical interest in neutral oxygen. The most important configuration interaction and relativistic effects were taken into account. On the basis of the present results, it has been possible to deduce new theoretical radiative lifetimes for the 2p(3)(4S0)3s5S0 and 3S0 states. Those are now in agreement with the most reliable experiments, as opposed to previous theoretical values. Our new data should give more weight to stellar abundance determinations based on the 3P-3S0 multiplet lines at 1302-1306 A and on the 3P-5S0 intercombination line at 1356 A in the UV region.
