VLA observations of the giant clumpy irregular galaxy Markarian 8 at 20 cm wavelength are presented, and the galaxy's radio properties are discussed. The observations indicate that Markarian 8 contains three major radio components and several weaker ones. The structure and radio peak positions are consistent with the optical clumps. The radio spectra of the components suggest that the emission from the clumps is thermal, while the envelope emission is nonthermal. Physical parameters of the clumps derived from the observations are consistent with those derived from 6 cm observations and suggest the presence of a very large number of early-type bright stars. High-resolution radio maps at both 6 cm and 20 cm indicate that the plasma in H II regions is clumped in several subcomponents. The clumping factor for Markarian 8 is estimated to be less than 100.
